The fittingly named "The Revenge of Tango" was first released in 2001 to rave reviews -- in Europe. It took two years for it to cross the pond, but once Gotan broke here, the adulation resumed. Their effortless grasp of tango and ingenious use of dub and trip-hop made for one of 2003's most satisfying listens. "Epoca" was also on The Truth About Charlie soundtrack.

On paper, the combination of tango and electronica sounds like a cacophonous fusion
straight out of chill-out hell. But in the hands of this Parisian trio, it works in beautiful and
mysterious ways. Gotan are brave enough to cover Gato Barbieri's "Last Tango in Paris,"
replacing its torrid sax line with velvety piano. The beats are sparse and liquid, and the
