Humble Pie

Most Humble Pie live albums consist of boogie throwdowns with Steve Marriott growling and yelping like a horny dog. But Live at the Whiskey captures the Pie in their infancy, when they were still a bluesy folk-rock unit featuring three lead singers. Of course, there's some boogie on Whiskey -- this is Humble Pie, after all -- but it's tempered with a rootsy intimacy. The band even busts out a West Coast-fried version of Dr. John's "I Walk on Gilded Splinters" that breaks the 21-minute mark.
