With a talent for combining sublime Deep House sounds with the steadfast Detroit Techno tradition, Ian Pooley is consistent in his efforts to take dance music into the future. Pooley's quality tech-house sounds first came out on the well-respected German label Force. Inc., and during the course of the '90s appeared on such labels as Odori, NRK, Sublime and Strive. In addition, Pooley tossed off remixes for a number of artists including Dave Angel, Green Velvet, Ken Ishii, Yello and others. Well-crafted club rhythms come layered with textured technoid effects wrapped in the warm, soulful elements of House. Haunting melodies and vocals loop expertly over a variety of beat patterns and dark, funky basslines of the depthless type. Essential.
