New Age now includes adult contemporary lightweights like Yanni and the Tesh, but back in the day the genre was about hippie alchemists attempting to distill the essences of the cosmos into fantastical ambient music made from synthesizers and exotic instrumentation. If this sounds like your kind of thing, dig into Elixir. Iasos is an old-school New Age pioneer, and this 1983 album is one of his most potent.
