In This Moment

This female-fronted melodic metalcore quintet focuses more on its celestial pop leanings than metal-by-numbers stereotypes on this Alice in Wonderland-themed sophomore record. Though not as brawny as their well received 2007 debut, this prim album focuses more on Maria Brink's vocal abilities as she goes from energetic ("All For You") to angelic ("Into the Light") to fierce ("The Great Divide"), while the band flexes its songwriting muscles on these sing-along ready anthems.
