Jack Costanzo

About

Nat "King" Cole suffered attacks from white racists when he added white bongo player Jack Costanzo to his trio in the late 1940s. Those racists are most probably burning in some forgotten corner of hell, while the music that Cole and the popular percussionist made together is still widely available. Costanzo went on to lead a wildly propulsive Latin Big Band, in the meantime teaching such stars as Marlon Brando how to pound the skins.
