With two coltishly popular commercial flops under his belt, Falkner read his audience well with this set of home recordings, which only increased his reputation as L.A.'s perennial power-pop bridesmaid. The unglossed demos may be tinny at times, but they swell with big harmonies and astute orchestration, suggesting that they arrived to him fully formed, where previously unheard ragers such as "My Home Is Not a House" show the breadth of his influences.
