Description of Boogie-Woogie
Boogie Woogie was one of Jazz's many forebears and holds a continuing association with Blues as well as with rock 'n' roll. It's based on a piano styling, with repeated rocking bass (left hand) figures, underscoring melody and improvisation by the right hand. A driving, compelling, and sometimes humorous sound, Boogie Woogie reappears through the decades whenever jazz wants to get down and have fun.
