Jethro Tull

Never one to skimp on a record or make music in moderation, Ian Anderson spools out 17 tracks of complex, densely baroque prog-rock on War Child. While too unwieldy to be a commercial success -- or even be considered an artistic one -- the album does contain two of Tull's greatest tracks. "Skating Away" and "Bungle in the Jungle" prove Anderson's pop genius, one he was often too eager to shed in favor of convoluted complexity.
