Of course, when that singer-songwriter is Jill Sobule, the lass who brought us "I Kissed a Girl" and "Supermodel," you just know every tune is going to bubble with dry wit, sharp insight and impish satire. From "Mexican Pharmacy" to "San Francisco," Sobule both embraces and pokes fun at her new home. She even adds a pedal steel and a dash of twang to really capture that whole Jackson Browne/Joni Mitchell vibe.

Frustrated that each of the indie labels behind her last two albums folded, Jill Sobule
created a website to solicit donations so she could release this one herself. She ended up
raising $85,000 from friends, fans and random celebrities like Fred Savage (who donated
