Fans of Arthur's solo performances will warm to this fifth release, particularly on "Slide Away," since it hints at the looping and wailing distortion sound he employs when playing live. This haunting drone contrasts well with his vocal style, which is similar to that of the Fine Young Cannibals' Roland Gift, albeit considerably more mellow. "Woman" also stands out, with Arthur doing his best Lennon impression, right down to the retro reverb production.
