K-Paz recorded this sold-out show in September 2007 in Mexico City; three months later, singer Sergio Gomez was dead. En Vivo captures the band at the height of its power and popularity, and it's hard not to be stirred by the circumstances of its release as much as its playful, upbeat bounce. "Mi Vecinita," with its call-and-response style, is a goofy delight, and even when they get serious or romantic, that insistent Duranguense hiccup keeps the adrenaline coursing. "Querido Amigo," the surviving band members' poetic tribute to Gomez, closes the album.
