Rhapsody

A decidedly lo-fi album, Stoltz's debut befriends glorious tape hiss and turns it into an ally. The songs have the appearance of ramshackle indie psychedelia, but there's more to them than that. The tracks unwind with purpose, invoking everything from Echo and the Bunnymen to Olivia Tremor Control. Stoltz's baroque musings conjure up original, acid-drenched visions.
