A female emcee from Tampa, Florida, Khia came out of nowhere in the summer of 2002, rocketing up the charts with her oral sex anthem "My Neck, My Back." The quintessential nasty-girl/strip club single of the year, its XXX-rated rhymes, bumping bass, and minimalist beats lit up radios from coast to coast, and prompted swift sales of her debut album Thug Misses. Whether she has the skills to maintain a long career, a la Foxy Brown or Lil Kim, remains to be seen, but her explosive debut cannot be denied.
