Kid 'N Play

About

Although remembered mostly for Kid's looming high-top fade and their comical films (House Party, House Party 2, Class Act), Kid 'N Play first hit the scene with their platinum-selling 1988 debut 2 Hype. Flexing a catchy, happy-go-lucky Pop Rap sound, the duo caught on quickly with a young audience, as well as with adults who abhorred the Gangsta movement just coming into play at the time. In 1990, they released a pair of albums: the soundtrack to House Party, and Kid 'N Play's Fun House. Around the same time, they launched a Saturday morning cartoon show based on themselves. Face The Nation (1991) was their final album, and the two were quiet for much of the 1990s.
