Lacuna Coil

Lacuna Coil continue to mess with the goth metal sound they are most known for on the band's first full length studio effort since 2006's Karmacode. Pushing Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro's vocals closer to the front of the mix than ever before, and employing uncharacteristically heavy guitar riffs, Italy's biggest metal export ever cranks out a dozen songs that address the superficiality of modern life. Lead single "Spellbound" may be their heaviest song to date, with de-tuned guitars and everything. But don't worry, die-hards, the important and best part remains the chorus.
