Ladytron

There's still plenty of glitz, gloom and spunk on Ladytron's fourth album to keep their fans bouncing in cynical glee. But where they once squeezed in droplets of pop on their cheeky electro, they've replaced those here with dark industrial fizz, glitchy synths, neon-flashing pulses and barreling beats. Producer Alessandro Cortini's work with Nine Inch Nails most definitely seeped into the metallic, monotonic "Burning Up" and "Predict the Day," and the group's adoration for the '80s resonates on Depeche Mode-inspired tracks "Ghosts," "Runaway" and the Bulgarian-sung "Black Cat."
