Anthemic dance beats strike like rhythms played on the detritus of an abandoned city; however, much like the body rhythms Kraftwerk produce with strictly electrical means, Lassigue Bendthaus creates music that's so structured and alienating, it takes on a life of its own. Each track is very much alive with vibrant electronic pulsations in the form of shocking EBM rhythms and frenetic waveforms that pin you to the wall before melting into smooth, elegant melodies. This solo project of Uwe Schmidt (also known as Atom Heart) has a discomforting tension between cooing vocals, warm electronics and harsh, agitated beats.
