Laurie Berkner deftly conjures up the simple pleasures of being a kid -- lying under a shady tree, for example -- and explores silly subjects ("Choc-O-Lot in My Pock-O-Lot") with equal authority. Of course kids don't do much but watch video games and eat junk food these days, but don't tell Berkner -- maybe her vision of childhood will rub off on young listeners.
