This greatest-hits album shows that Lenny Kravitz is more than the sum of his Hendrix obsession. While he sometimes wades too deeply into the classic-rock canon, he's at his best when he's blazing past genre restrictions and blurring the boundaries of soul and pop, like on the breathy "It Ain't Over Til It's Over," a song you'd swear was a Smokey Robinson original.
