An L.A.-based duo comprising brothers Oak and Nick Fury, Lexicon first appeared in 1997, dropping an EP with the Library Crew. Several tight 12-inches followed, earning them an impressive rep in the growing indie hip-hop scene. Lyrically, they bring a straightforward B-boy approach to the table, with strong and witty rhymes that aren't too concerned with acting hard or crying about the mainstream. Backed by neck-breaking beats and feisty chopped samples, their high energy tracks demand the listener's attention. In 2001 Lexicon hooked up with SpyTech Records and released the single "Come Up" b/w "Nikehead." They also appeared on the Day By Day compilation A Piece Of The Action, which was followed by their debut full-length, It's The L!.
