Liam Finn

Liam Finn's solo debut, I'll Be Lightning, showcased a thoughtful, psychedelia-tinged indie singer-songwriter. His fine songs are definitely on display in this concert, but in a split second he can take them into wonderfully spastic and savagely entertaining directions. Finn loops himself like Juana Molina or KT Tunstall, but has the kind of cheeky charm that so many New Zealanders possess. And to top it all off, tunes such as "Wide Awake on the Voyage Home" are still drop-dead gorgeous (Liam is Neil Finn's son, after all).
