Liam Finn

For as good as Liam Finn's I'll Be Lightning was, there's something about the bare-bones performances of these songs that's even better, as he does the one-man-band thing playing guitar and drums on a set of the record's best. Check out the gnarly, fuzzed-out, brain-freeze of a guitar solo on "Remember When." The best testament to his multi-instrumental talents might be "Better to Be," though -- toward the end of that tune he sets the guitar on auto-loop and jumps on the drums, rocking faces off in the process.
