Los Autenticos Decadentes

About

Calling themselves "anarcotropicales," this Buenos Aires band got its start in the late 1980s playing a blend of boleros, ska, punk and whatever else took their fancy. They released their debut, El Milagro Argentino, in 1989 -- but most people thought it was a miracle the album was ever released, given the massive amounts of booze consumed during the recording sessions. Nonetheless, two years after its release several local soccer clubs adopted songs off the album as club themes, and suddenly Los Autenticos Decadentes were popular. Two releases followed (in 1991 and '93) and in 1995 the group released the blockbuster Mi Vida Loca, which crystallized the band's ska and reggae influences and launched an impossible number of hits.
