Lou Ann Barton

About

Austin blues singer Lou Ann Barton has a voice that moves effortlessly from a sexy purr to a paint-peeling wail. Her meager recorded output is consistently good, but doesn't quite reflect her twenty-plus years in the music business, nor her force as a live performer. She's been closely associated with several hotshot Texas guitar players -- most notably Stevie Ray Vaughan and his older brother Jimmie. Her voice is a mighty instrument with enough power and soul to keep the spotlight on her, no matter how notorious or famous her supporting musicians might be.
