Infamous for punching himself in the face with his own fist, Sebadoh's Lou Barlow has now attained a sliver of the same kook-cred as Daniel Johnston. With his rich voice and simple but unique acoustic drone, Barlow has penned some of the most heartfelt, engaging, boy-meets-girl verse this side of Judy Blume. When there's no love interest involved you're likely to hear quirky, strangely familiar pot-inspired silliness that often sounds less like a tortured artist and more like a spoiled one.
