Louisiana Red

About

Louisiana Red's gravelly vocal delivery and deeply personal blues first came to prominence in the revival boom of the '60s, but he had been on the scene since just after WWII, jamming with the likes of John Lee Hooker. His rolling, full band blues is a direct descendant of the Muddy Waters style: a solid unit of guitar, bass, and drums with harmonica acting as both rhythm and lead instrument.

- Mike McGuirk
