Hailing from Finland, Luomo fuses experimental romance with dark, shadowy edges to create a restless mix of electronic soundscapes that skip eerily over modern dance beats. Mixing elements of disco, house, glitch-pop and minimal techno, Luomo's background as a jazz drummer brings a smooth, syncopated vibe to electronic's usually repetitive drum lines. His forward-thinking take on minimal house has led to studio collaborations with Massive Attack, DFA and the Scissor Sisters. With fractured rhythms and abstract lyrics in songs like "Tessio" off 2000's Vocalcity EP and "If I Can't" from 2008's Convivial, Luomo's sound began to be referred to as "microhouse."
