Madina Lake may be the first ever concept band, as their music (debut album, From Them, Through Us, to You, this second record and a future third album) is all tied into a story concocted by bassist Matt Leone about the people of a fictional town obsessed with the disappearance of their favorite celebrity, Adalia. Listeners are encouraged to try to solve the mystery through clues found online and in the music. Sonically, Madina Lake are heavily influenced by Nine Inch Nails and the electro/Brit pop that characterized the mid-'90s (think Elastica minus the Stranglers feel).
