The Funky Side of Life corrals some of today's hottest studio jazz cats for a set that's loose and funky. The cinematic magic may be drained out of David Axelrod's "A Divine Image," but the funky rev up "Dice Game" and the droopy serendipity of Billy Brooks' "Fourty Days" make this Madlib's best jazz disc yet.
