Mark Isham

Mark Isham's old world Hollywood score was one of the only good things in Brian DePalma's jaw-droppingly awful adaptation of James Elroy's Black Dahlia. While Isham's mournful trumpet and strings score draws some of its inspiration from Jerry Goldsmiths work in Chinatown, as well as old film noirs, he makes it his own. The only thing under utilized is the composer's jazz strengths.
