Material Issue

If you can listen to the Best Of without knowing Material Issue's back story, you'll swear the band must've scored No. 1 after No. 1. In reality, the Chicago trio recorded some of rock's best power pop, and yet no one ever really cared. In fact, Material Issue only got better with each new release. Its later singles, the powerhouse anthem "Goin' Through Your Purse" for example, rival Cheap Trick in terms of accurately detailing the absurd but all too real anxieties of teenage romance.
