moe.

About

Their fans will tell you that seeing a live performance is the only way to truly appreciate their quirky brand of jam rock, but their studio material might give you an idea. Fancy changes, bluesy improvisations showcasing impressive instrumental mastery and a silly sense of humor make moe. a favorite among the skirt-over-pants set. After saturating the east coast (particularly upstate New York), the band soon became popular throughout the states with their Americana-branded funk. Lead bassist/vocalist Rob Derhak is the founder of the group and holds a strong lead role. He's comparable to Primus' Les Claypool, who also tends to sing and freak the bass guitar simultaneously. Two words to describe their kind of playing: funkuss ridiculossus. (We didn't say they'd be real words.)
