My Dying Bride

Returning to the bleak violins and crushing guitars of old, but for the most part keeping the melodic vocals that have proven divisive among their fans, the long, long, longstanding My Dying Bride enter a new era with For Lies I Sire. While one can't expect them to duplicate the innovation that made such songs as "The Bitterness and the Bereavement" and "The Return of the Beautiful" revelations in 1992, "My Body, A Funeral" comes close. And with nods to just about every era through which the band has evolved, For Lies I Sire will be seen as a good omen for their future.
