Mylo

About

Described by the now-defunct The Face magazine as "Scotland's answer to Royksopp," Mylo (aka Myles MacInnes) burst onto the British electronic music scene in 2004 with Destroy Rock And Roll. His sound, a refreshing blend of house and poppy electro with fat bass lines and clever samples, belied the fact that the album was mostly created at home on his computer. Such self-sufficiency also led to Myles eschewing the need for label representation and instead creating his own -- Breastfed -- with a couple of friends. Hugely popular, and making many a critic's top 10 albums of the year in 2004, his debut set MacInnes up on the international DJing and live performance circuit, with remixing work coming in from Sia, Annie and the Scissor Sisters. He also wisely chose to embrace the mash-up phenomenon by agreeing to release "Doctor Pressure" -- a blend of his "Drop the Pressure" hit and "Doctor Beat" by the Miami Sound Machine.
