Nathan Moore

About

Singer-songwriter Nathan Moore succinctly synthesizes human experience into revelatory, poetic lyrics with the natural ease of a seasoned wordsmith. He has tapped into our collective unconscious to reveal our struggles, desires and emotions with witty clarity and profound meaning. At one time calling Virginia, Austin, Santa Fe and Portland home, Moore first began to garner attention in 1993 with the folk-rock group ThaMuseMeant. Additionally, he's teamed up with indie rockers the Slip to form Surprise Me Mr. Davis, a side-project reminiscent of the Band backing Bob Dylan. All the while, he's found time to release seven solo albums on Frogville Records, which he co-founded. He continues to play solo and with both bands at festivals and small clubs. Whatever musical setting serves as his creative outlet, Moore's lyrics always speak to his contagiously glass-half-full outlook as both a traveler seeking wisdom and a prophet dispensing insights. Like his forebears, names like Dylan and John Prine, Moore is a soul-shaker.
