Multi-instrumentalist Nik Turner was one of the founding members of Hawkwind and accounted for much of the band's experimental edge; without him, they may have sounded more "Acid" Rock than "Space." When Hawkwind started unraveling at the seams, Turner set out on his own, saving face and retaining his hot-commodity status. He's worked with artists as diverse as Sting, Psychic TV, and Helios Creed.
