Obituary

The band pounds, pounds, pounds and John Tardy sings (or whatever it is that he does) from somewhere deep within the soul of the biggest hater of his own throat that ever lived. As with World Demise, Tardy's delayed, descending vocal sheets almost steal the show from the flattening behemoth of sound behind him here. Actually, he does steal the show -- the guy is incredible. New lead guitarist Ralph Santolla (Death, Iced Earth) does an excellent job in Allen West's absence, providing the dive bomber lead freakouts. Obituary has yet to put out anything bad since reforming in 2005.
