Pastor Troy

About

Something of a Dirty South version of Killah Priest, Pastor Troy mixes biblical scriptures with fiery gangsta threats. His '99 debut, We Ready, I Declare War, featured Troy and his crew (Down South Georgia Boyz) giving love for God, repping Augusta, Ga., and taking aim at rival Master P. In 2000, Troy stayed busy releasing two more albums and collaborating with Ludacris, E-40 and Three 6 Mafia. Universal Soldier came in 2002, By Any Means Necessary followed in 2004. Though he flirted with mainstream success, by 2006's Tool Muziq he returned to making dirty Southern gothic that balanced the influence of God and guns. 2008's Attitude Adjuster was similarly grim.
