Damn straight it's time. Paula, you know we love the symphonic pop arrangements and seductive singing of your solo songs, but this bucolic vision of stormy, angelic Americana was missed. Thank you for resurrecting Tarnation. Has it really been a decade? There's just a perfect marriage between your otherworldly, Appalachian-steeped vocal range and pastoral, melancholic musings, especially on songs like "Sleeping Dreams" where we just melt with the pedal steel notes. "Shadows" is so gorgeous and haunting -- it invokes the kind of dusty specters found in Cormac McCarthy's better stories.
