Pebbles

Discovered by Bill Summers (of Summers Heat) when she was still a teenager, Pebbles hooked up with LA Reid (whom she later married) and Babyface for this 1987 debut. The potent combo of synth-and-handclap saturated beats with Paula Abdul-style vocals would spawn several hit singles, most notably "Girlfriend" and "Mercedes Boy."
