Person L's debut release is a concoction of the Starting Line's gentle pop-rock style filtered through the Mars Volta's convoluted instrumental exploration. Featuring eight tracks of familiar emo-styled echoes and distorted feedback, Initial's trite, alternative sound makes it an album that can hardly be described as the bold, musical experiment songwriter Kenny Vasoli intended it to be.
