Pop Levi

About

Pose-striking, karate-kicking, freakout-having Pop Levi has a heart that beats to the irregular rhythm of the psychedelic 1960s. Alongside unmistakeable influence from the likes of Marc Bolan, the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix, the live spirit of Prince also pervades -- not least in Levi's compact stature and seemingly unshakeable self-belief. Signed to Ninja Tune and its affiliates since 2002 as Super Numeri alongside Snap Ant and Carl Webb (who he founded a commune with in Liverpool before striking out for Los Angeles), Levi was picked up to tour and record with electropop phenomenon Ladytron as a bassist, writing and recording solo material as he went. With guitarist Domino, bass player Luke Muscatelli and drummer Marius Simonsen, Pop Levi put out the Blue Honey EP in 2006. His debut album, The Return to Form Black Magick Party, arrived in early 2007 and his follow-up, Never Never Love, came out in 2008.
