Queensryche reveal their rock music lovers side on this 2007 record. Born at various sound checks over the years, Take Cover emerged from down-time fiddling with riffs from songs different band members considered favorites. Rather than record straight covers, however, Queensryche filters the widely ranging styles through their own brainy lens, reinterpreting Floyd and Dio-era Sabbath, and taking on a great song from Jesus Christ Superstar. They even manage to get away with covering Peter Gabriel ("Red Rain") and the Police ("Synchronicity II").
