Razorlight

For a guy who once proclaimed himself a songwriting genius, Razorlight leader Johnny Borrell sure has a lot to prove on his band's sophomore disc, and he largely measures up. The upbeat charms of this eponymous release sound like these guys have matured from UK upstarts to a wiser bunch of blokes already nostalgic for youthful frolics. Their cheeky attitude has been replaced with what sounds like wide-awake sincerity, making their brand of British guitar pop all the more carefree and catchy.
