Rising Sons

Coming together and falling apart while Beatlemania and folk-rock's first offerings ruled the airwaves, the Risings Sons' fusion of garage pep and raw Americana looked forward to the country- and blues-rock booms; the ballad "2:10 Train" even sounds like the Dead's American Beauty five years ahead of schedule. These recordings, amazingly enough, didn't see an official release until 1992. That's staggering when you realize the Rising Sons' artist core was a young Ry Cooder and Taj Mahal.
