In between Apples in Stereo projects, Robert Schneider always wrote songs for kids -- for his son Max, primarily, but also for other children in his life. In 2009, he made the hobby official, creating the persona Robbert Bobbert and releasing his first album of kids' music, Robbert Bobbert and the Bubble Machine. The record's charming, Beach Boys-inspired songs gained an instant fan base. Schneider's not stopping there, however; he's working with Nickelodeon on a series by the same name about an inventor of useless objects.
