Robert Fripp

About

Continually pushing the envelope for experimentation in music, Robert Fripp began his career in 1969 with the art rock conglomeration King Crimson. One of the few Progressive bands not affiliated with mysticism and general Tolkien-ism, they disbanded in 1974. Fripp then began his experiments in tape looping under improvised solos with Brian Eno. A gifted virtuoso and master of the mellotron, Fripp's records have encompassed pop, spoken word and ambient, and featured as guests everyone from David Bowie to the Orb. His work has managed to make an impact on cerebral bohemians far and wide.
