Those desperately missing their legwarmers and black eyeliner are getting their '80s fix with the recent resurgence of post-punk bands. Rock Kills Kid join in the acid jeans-wearing fun on Are You Nervous? filled with melancholic melodies reminiscent of the Cure and synth undertones that are oh so Depeche Mode. But RKK set themselves apart with a satisfying and danceable mix of self-conscious lyrics, pick-me-up backbeats and hints of wary optimism: "Life is a real bitch, but we keep moving on."
