Rollins Band

About

Easily one of the most identifiable figures in rock (his very tattoos are pop culture icons), Henry Rollins gained fame as the ultra-intense, larynx-shredding vocalist for seminal Punk band Black Flag. Two years and two solo albums after that group's demise, Rollins teamed up with guitarist Chris Haskett, bassist Andrew Weiss (later Melvin Gibbs) and drummer Sim Cain to form Rollins Band, perhaps the perfect complement to Henry's soul-wrenching confessions and blistering rage. Rollins rips out his innermost thoughts and serves them to his audience with a mirror-shattering glare that dares them to listen. Meanwhile, the band beats the audience into submission with an avalanche of thick sludge as heavy and unstoppable as a steamroller, making each tortured lyric ring painfully true. Feeling that the classic unit had accomplished all it could, Rollins adopted an entirely new lineup for 2000's Get Some Go Again.
